I work in different mediums and the nature of the materials really excites me. I aim to juxtapose elements to draw attention to the qualities of each. I love textures. I appreciate old things. I like how time leaves its mark on the surface of objects.
With my digital graphics I want to make people think, or confirm ideas they already have. I distill things to simple shapes, then layer these shapes and see what happens. I like that my merchandise graphics give people opportunities to express themselves.
I hope my art will lead people to see the beauty in things that they might not otherwise. I want to bring joy and pleasure by contributing to pleasing environments, and also inspire people to explore.

I am an artist and graphic designer based in Vermont, USA.
I spent a lot of time in my youth trying different things. I first went to college to be a fashion designer. I wanted to create wearable art and was inspired by the brick suit David Byrne wore in the film True Stories. I traveled, and built a house off the grid in northern Vermont. I made art and communed with nature. Eventually I found my way back to design in my late twenties. Tired of working in restaurants, I bought a computer and taught myself Photoshop. I studied books on design principles and typography, and then got an internship with a local freelance designer. Now I’ve been working as a graphic designer for over 20 years. And recently I’ve been applying my graphics skills to merchandise. I love the endless possibilities and amazing tools tied to working on the computer. But I mostly treasure the time I spend creating physical art with my hands.
My paintings, ceramic tiles, and mixed media pieces are available for purchase.
